MAuToBlog is the technical journal of [Matteo](/en/about/): artificial intelligence, software development and technology, told by someone who works with them every day. No hype, a critical eye and, now and then, a croissant.

## What I write about

- [Artificial intelligence](/en/categories/artificial-intelligence/): models, news and what they really change, including AI that runs on your own computer.
- [Software development](/en/categories/software-development/): architecture, design patterns, refactoring and everyday tools.
- [Projects](/en/categories/projects/): my open source projects, written up as they grow.
- [Security and privacy](/en/categories/security-and-privacy/), [technology](/en/categories/technology/), [career](/en/categories/career/) and [culture and society](/en/categories/culture-and-society/): what happens around the code.

Longer topics become multi-part series: you will find them in [Guides](/en/guides-and-tutorials/).

## How it started

The blog started while I was experimenting with **Hugo**, a static site generator written in Go. I needed content to test layouts and features and, instead of the usual "Lorem Ipsum", I used a generative AI fed with the technical notes I had collected over years of work.

The result, with some human retouching afterwards, turned out good enough to become a real blog, in Italian and English.

## Two signatures

For transparency, posts carry one of two signatures:

- **Matteo**: articles I wrote myself;
- **Mauto**: articles written together with AI, then reviewed and edited by me.

AI is a tool, not the author: whatever I publish, I read it, check it and take responsibility for it.

## How it is built

```yaml
generator: Hugo
theme:     home-made, synthwave and terminal
hosting:   Netlify
analytics: self-hosted Umami, no cookies
languages: [it, en]
```

Every post also exists in Markdown: add `index.md` to the end of the address. Handy to hand to an LLM, which will also find an [llms.txt](/en/llms.txt) with the site index. To follow new posts there is the [RSS feed](/en/index.xml).
